3 Days · 2 Nights (Gîte & Refuge)

The Ultimate High Atlas Combo: Scenic Valley + Summit Ascent

For adventurers seeking both stunning landscapes and a genuine summit challenge, this 3-day trek is perfect. You'll first explore the lush, remote Azzaden Valley—a quieter alternative to the main Toubkal circuit—passing through terraced fields, walnut groves, and traditional Berber villages. After an overnight in a charming mountain gîte, you'll join the classic route to climb Mount Toubkal (4167m), the highest peak in North Africa. This itinerary balances culture, scenery, and achievement.

Led by an expert local guide, you'll enjoy the best of both worlds: the tranquility of Azzaden and the exhilaration of standing on top of the Atlas Mountains. Small groups, authentic accommodations, and breathtaking views await.

Frequently Asked Questions – Azzaden & Toubkal Climb

❓ How difficult is the Toubkal summit day? +
Summit day is challenging: 4-5 hours ascent (900m elevation gain) on steep, rocky terrain. Good physical fitness, previous hiking experience, and acclimatization (our itinerary includes two days before summit) are essential. Our guides set a steady pace and prioritize safety.
❓ What makes Azzaden Valley special compared to other treks? +
Azzaden Valley is greener, quieter, and less crowded than the main Toubkal circuit. You'll walk through walnut groves, cross clear streams, and stay in a traditional Berber gîte—a more authentic cultural immersion before the summit challenge.
❓ Do I need special gear for the climb? +
Sturdy waterproof hiking boots, warm layers (fleece, down jacket), hat & gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, headlamp, and a daypack (25-30L). For winter (Dec-March), we provide crampons and ice axes. Sleeping bag optional (blankets at refuge/gîte).
❓ What is the best season for this 3-day trek? +
May–June and September–October offer ideal weather: mild days, clear skies, and fewer trekkers. July–August is warm but still good for summit (start very early). Winter treks possible with proper gear and guide assessment.
❓ Can I store extra luggage in Marrakech? +
Yes! You can leave excess luggage at our Marrakech office or your hotel for free. The mules carry only 8kg per person on the trek.
